The
Lead Age Group Coach – Foundation Phase role at The New Saints FC (TNSFC) is designed for passionate football coaches aiming to develop young players aged 8 to 11. This position involves leading a specific age group within the Foundation Phase, focusing on holistic player development in line with the club's philosophy.
📌 Key Responsibilities
- Coaching & Development
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate training sessions.
- Implement the club’s coaching curriculum to foster technical and tactical growth.
- Create Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) for each player, monitoring their progress across technical, tactical, physical, and psychological domains.
- Matchday & Player Assessment
- Organize and manage fixtures, ensuring players are challenged appropriately.
- Provide constructive feedback to players post-match, aligning with their ILPs.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the Head of Coaching and other age group coaches to ensure consistency in coaching methods.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding player development and progress.
- Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions, player attendance, and development milestones.
- Utilize the club’s chosen platforms for data entry and analysis.
✅ Essential Qualifications & Experience
- UEFA B Licence (minimum requirement).
- FA Youth Award or equivalent.
- Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF) certification.
- FA Safeguarding Children Certificate.
- Proven experience coaching within a professional academy, specifically with U8–U11 age groups.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and age-specific coaching techniques.
