Blackpool FC Academy are seeking a Lead Academy Physiotherapist to assist in the leading of the academy medical services, to academy players. Focusing on injury prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. The postholder will work across the whole academy performance pathway and assisting in the development and implementation of the working practices implemented by the medical team.
Qualifications and Experience
• Graduate Qualification in Physiotherapy (BSc/MSc)
• Qualified member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP)
• Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• FA Advanced Trauma Medical Management in Football (ATMMIF)
• DBS Enhanced Criminal Record Check
• FA Safeguarding Children Qualification
• Valid UK Driving license

Senior Academy Physiotherapist
POSITION:

OVERALL OBJECTIVES:
To be an integral part of the Academy Medical Team in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of players throughout the performance pathway of Blackpool FC.
Main Objectives
1. Promote and protect the health and well-being of all players within the academy
2. To assist the Head of Academy Sports Science and Medicine to promote an environment of exceptional care to players maintaining the highest professional standards.
3. Work as a key member of the Academy Medical Department.
4. To primarily oversee the U18’s player cohort, in training, matches and rehabilitation services. Person Specification

Summary of Duties
1. Provide medical services the to all players
2. Promote and protect the health and well-being of players at all times
3. Lead in monitoring and evaluating of all players injury and fitness status
4. To be responsible for pitch side assessment and treatment methods across the academy
5. Provide and implement injury prevention strategies in conjunction with the sports science department
6. Maintain accurate and updated medical records of all squad members
7. To assist in ensuring the club and players are compliant with all medical and anti-doping guidelines, rules and regulations of governing bodies
8. Liaise with medical staff of international players to ensure they are managed appropriately whilst on international duty.
9. Organise and accompany players to specialist consultations and post-surgical appointments
10. Undertake appropriate professional development to keep abreast of industry best practice
11. To assist in ensuring all staff have appropriate medical qualifications to carry out their role
12. Continue individual CPD to ensure up-to-date practices
13. Implement age appropriate medical screening tests for all players prior to registration being confirmed
14. Ensure compliance with all required standards in relation to Premier League audit system
15. Provide structured and relevant information regarding player availability weekly to all coaches across the academy
16. Communicate professionally with all key stakeholders (players, parents, staff)
17. Develop high performance standards for the medical team to work by ensuring a professional team is created and monitored.
18. Assist in the delivery of CPD to all Academy Medical Staff
