Description

The Role

Responsible for the monitoring the national underage leagues (boys /girls), regional, centres of excellence and National Academy emerging talent programme within your region in conjunction with the Development Officers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The High-Performance regional coach will solely focus on the development of elite players, coach education and support of elite coaches in their region, progressing to the national teams and working in conjunction with the National League clubs and leagues.

Specific Responsibilities

Coach Education

  • Work closely with the Head of Coach Education in the implementation and development of the FAI/UEFA Coach Education Programme

  • Deliver coach education courses to meet the needs of the game in your region and in line with UEFA standards (UEFA A, B, C and D licences)

  • Assist in the delivery of UEFA coaching courses, conferences and any other coach education courses in your region as requested by the Head of Coach Education.


Player Identification & Development

  • Works in partnership with the local leagues and their League Emerging Talent Programme centres, Regional Emerging Talent block staff, Centres of Excellence staff (boys / girls), Under 13, 15, 17 and 19 National League Head Coaches, to provide a pathway, for players countrywide, to our international teams

  • Identifies players in the National Underage Leagues with the potential to play in the underage national teams (boys / girls)

  • Works as the Centre Coordinator at the boys and girls ETP in their region and is responsible for the delivery of the ETP (boys / girls)

  • Is responsible for the development of a thorough and extensive local, regional player identification system for players aged Under 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 (boys / girls)

  • Completes player identification reports and store on the FAI system


Club Development

  • Is responsible for the monitoring of the National Underage Leagues (boys / girls)

  • Responsible for assisting the clubs in their development to grow further

  • Be a resource for the clubs within the National League clubs in your region


Coaches Development

  • Is responsible for creating a network of auxiliary coaches to assist in the delivery of Emerging Talent Programmes

  • Responsible for the delivery of coaches’ clinics


Additional Responsibilities

Underage International Teams

  • To assist the underage international teams where appropriate with a range of duties depending on experience.

  • This could include training camps as well as competitive fixtures in Ireland and abroad

  • Coach Education delivery

  • Elite player development & talent identification

  • Management and coaching of underage elite players

Qualifications

UEFA Pro Licence desirable UEFA EYA Licence (currently completing the UEFA EYA) or minimum criteria UEFA A Licence. In the event you are successful, then immediate progression to the UEFA EYA is required.
