Stockport County Community Trust is looking for an experienced Health and Wellbeing Manager to join the staff team to develop the health and wellbeing programmes that the Trust delivers across Stockport.
About Stockport County Community TrustStockport County Community Trust is the official charity of Stockport County Football Club which was set up in 2021 after the purchase of the club by Mark Stott to achieve his aim of ensuring the football club has a positive impact in the local community. The charity works across Stockport and the surrounding area to use the power of football and Stockport County to make a positive difference by inspiring, educating and supporting the community.
The charity engages with around 8,000 people each year through a variety of education, social inclusion and health and wellbeing programmes. We aim to carry out 80% of our work within those areas suffering from the most deprivation in Stockport, working with residents aged from 5-85 (the current age of our youngest and oldest participant) in a variety of club and community settings.
Purpose of the role
- The new Health and Wellbeing Manager role is key to fulfilling the charity’s objectives in developing our health and wellbeing programmes.
- We are looking for someone that is highly experienced in programme development and income generation, with proven success in managing and motivating a staff team.

Roles and responsibilitiesThe main responsibilities of the post holders are as follows.
- To design and deliver a range of health and wellbeing programmes that are in line with the Trust’s strategic priorities and aligned to our three year strategy, ‘Inspiring, Educating and Supporting Our Communities’ to help meet the needs of the people in Stockport.
- To secure funding from a range of partners to deliver high quality programmes, including funding from grants and trusts and commercial partners.
- To develop programmes of work that are funded directly through the procurement and commissioning of services from local providers.
- To develop strong relationships and build positive networks with a range of partners and stakeholders across the health/wellbeing sectors including statutory sector providers and third sector organisations.
- To establish strong monitoring and evaluation models across all programmes, putting in place monitoring frameworks to collect relevant data and case studies and to use this information to produce reports for funders and key media stakeholders.
- To manage a staff team across the Health and Wellbeing department, including establishing a training and development programme and a clinical supervision scheme.
- To develop a volunteer strategy to maximise the use of volunteers on County Community Trust programmes.
- To work with the Media and Content Manager and the Communications and Marketing team at Stockport County Community Trust to raise awareness of the work of the Trust in the local community and to key stakeholders.
- To support the CEO in developing and achieving the charities overall aims and objectives.

Experience required:
- Experience of developing and managing high quality community engagement programmes across the health/wellbeing sector E
- Knowledge of current policies and practices, legislation and current needs and trends relating to health/wellbeing and relate this knowledge to the responsibilities of the role E
- Experience of securing funding for health/wellbeing projects from a wide range of funding partners E
- Knowledge and understanding of the need within the community and what community led health/wellbeing programmes are aiming to achieve E
- Experience of developing, managing and maintaining effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders including statutory sector partnerships, third sector organisations and service users E
- Experience of presenting information to stakeholders, voluntary and community groups and representing an organisation at senior meetings and events E
- Proven track record of delivery against outcomes/targets against specific budget criteria E
- Experience of line managing and supporting staff and contributing to their CPD and wellbeing so that all staff thrive in their roles E
- Expperience of safeguarding practices and procedures and how to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and vulnerable adults E
- Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion and how this applies to the role and the work of County Community Trust E
- A "can do" attitude with evidence of leadership skills with a proven ability to manage and motivate others to reach their full potential E
