Description

This is an exciting time at Newcastle United and we are looking for talented individuals to help us on our journey. To help us deliver on our ambitious plans we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support our Health & Safety Team.

Working as part of our Health & Safety Team, you will be responsible for supporting the Health & Safety Manager in ensuring the Club maintains compliance with all legal and Premier League regulations and standards providing support and advice on all Health & Safety matters across the Club and proactively developing a positive Health & Safety culture, ensuring all risks to the Club are detected and remediated early.

You will be working across all Club sites, implementing, and managing Health and Safety policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance. As part of your role, you will be responsible for the review and development of risk assessments, contractor management, recording accidents and near misses, managing asbestos, legionella, fire and other high-risk areas, implementing new and managing existing procedures and managing compliance. In addition, you will be expected to carry out regular audits and investigations, managing subsequent identified actions and supplying follow up reports to the Health & Safety Manager.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and due to the nature of the role you must have extensive experience of implementing and manging Health and Safety in an operational role with a robust knowledge of various risk areas and the ability to identify hazards and quickly rectify issues in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities. In addition to this you will have substantial experience and the practical skills required to effectively manage contractors both internal and external, ability to effectively carryout safety audits, develop and deliver inductions, training and toolbox talks and be confident in taking responsibility to proactively support and develop Health & Safety across the Club.

The Club is currently working towards achieving ISO 450001 and as part of your role you would be supporting the Health and Safety manager in implementing the requirements to successfully achieve and maintain the accreditation, previous experience in working with the standard would be beneficial.

A proven track record of working in an operational Health & Safety role at Advisor level is essential, with GCSE, or equivalent in Maths and English grade C or above and NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.

Permanent, Full Time (35 hours per week) plus home matchdays and events including evenings and weekends which will be dictated by a rota
