Reports to: Academy Technical Director
Job Purpose
- Lead, oversee the physical and health status of the team's players to ensure optimal performance on the field.
- Manage the day-to-day operations in terms of strength and conditioning program, injury prevention, rehabilitation, nutrition, and recovery strategies.
- Works closely with the coaching staff to develop training programs that align with the team's overall strategy and goals.
- Deliver regular updates and player development reports to the Academy Director
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor the performance staff, including strength coaches, physios, doctors, sports scientists, and nutritionists
- Responsible for the consistency, quality, and coordination of daily practice delivery from the MDT (prevention, training, gym, nutrition, recovery)
- Work with the coaching staff to develop training programs that align with the team's overall strategy and goals
- Managing and leading the communication lines with the coaching staff, MDT staff, sporting director, team manager, and logistics, other club staff as required
- Overseeing data collection, storage, and management
- Overseeing sporting facilities optimization and development and technology integration
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in sports performance to continuously improve the team's program

- Knowledge of human physiology
- Knowledge of the science and application of training principles
- Knowledge in growth and maturation
- Knowledge in sport science (load and player health monitoring)
- Knowledge in player care and rehabilitation
- Understanding of football tactics, games management and talent ID.
General skills and attributesEssential
- Fluent English / Arabic is a big +
- Background and qualification in at least one of: S&C, Physiotherapy, Sport Science, Nutrition
- Understanding and experience of an elite football environment
- Strong relationship management skills and experience in developing cohesive,
- productive partnerships (e.g., City Football Group)
- Experience and understanding of how data systems (AMS) and data support inform daily work
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

- Fluent in multiple languages
- Understanding and appreciation of Arabic culture
ExperienceEssential
- Experience in leading and managing the day-to-day work and operations of a high-performance and medical team within an academy setting

- Use and appreciation of psychological profiling and learning styles
- Having lived in the middle east

- Postgraduate degree in at least one of: S&C, Physiotherapy, Sport Science
- HAAD Licence
