Hull City Football Club are looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual to lead our Performance Analysis department, ensuring the highest level of tactical and technical analysis to support the First Team coaching staff and players.

Location: MKM Stadium, Hull HU3 6HU / Training Ground, Cottingham, Hull, East Yorkshire.

Your key responsibilities
• Lead and organise a team of First Team Analysts.
• Co-ordinate roles within the team to provide functional and high-performance workflows that support the coaching team in all aspects of performance analysis.
• Align department processes and outputs with our coaching philosophy, game model, and club vision.
• Drive a department that delivers actionable, in-depth, and detailed analysis at both team and player levels, covering technical and tactical opposition insights, set pieces, training, pre-match, in-game, and post-match analysis.
• Breakdown opposition tactical playing styles to best understand strengths and weaknesses – including (but not limited to) team structures: In and Out of possession, Transitional play and Set pieces.
• Lead the analysis of team performance in-game, providing feedback and detailed insights into tactical patterns, strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. Collaborate with coaching staff to develop game plans and strategies.
• Communicate effectively with coaching staff on the bench as required, providing efficient feedback on both technical and tactical aspects, along with key events that occur.
• Watch additional games of the forthcoming opponent live or on video to assist in the delivery of the opposition analysis.
• Prepare and deliver pre-match presentations to staff & players, fully utilising video analysis / editing software to enhance visual learning and encourage player interaction.
• Create and prepare opposition material in a variety of formats and assist in formulating game plans alongside coaching staff leading into games which guides the planning / delivery of tactical training sessions.
• Create interactive dossiers on upcoming opponents (video + written). Information included (but not limited to): team overview (form, team shape, statistical profiling), squad information, team playing style and individual breakdown.
• Database statistical data, written documentation and best practice video on position specific profiles and the game model to be shared access across relevant departments within the football club.
• Oversee the live filming and analysis of games (home or away where relevant to the opposition performance cycle), providing wide angle tactical footage, the coding of team / individual player clips [to provide immediate feedback to staff] relevant to the clubs technical and tactical blueprint for the game.
What are we looking for?
• Relevant degree in Sports Performance analysis or similar field
• Experience in working cross-functionally with different departments to ensure a cohesive approach to performance analysis.
• Proficiency in video analysis software, data management tools, and performance tracking technology.
• Understanding of a dynamic and ever-changing football environment.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong ability to analyze and interpret tactical and technical aspects of football.
