Description

The Head of Academy Coaching is fundamental to the long-term vision of Norwich City Football Club in the development of the best coaches and players within the Academy.

The role will be responsible for developing a coach education programme to maximise the development potential of each coach within the Academy. The role will involve supporting the development of the Phase specific Coaching Curriculums and procedures in relation the Club philosophy across the Player Performance Pathway, maintaining the blueprint for the technical development of players.

This is a full-time role, offered on a permanent contract with a competitive salary.

Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop a Norwich City Coach Competency Framework, including but not limited to designing set of competencies, adaptive framework, implementation of assessment method, creation of individual development plans, and evidence of how each coach has progressed

  • Develop a planned CPD programme that meets the needs of each individual as highlighted in each coach development plan

  • Work with the Performance Analysts to provide video evidence to support each Player Performance Review, and produce a visual coaching philosophy for coaches, staff and players to support the Norwich way

  • Ensure all coaches have documented each session plan prior to delivery of the coaching session, including individual and team key coaching points and learning objectives for each player using the Football Intelligence Platform (FIP)

  • Implement a standardized format of documenting learning objectives on the FIP to aid the coaches to evaluate coaching sessions

  • Oversee the coaches to ensure that each coaching session is written in accordance with the individual player and team requirements of the Sports Science and Medicine teams

  • Ensure all coaches give appropriate playing opportunities for all players in the YDP, and that evaluation of the players performance is made against their individual aims

  • Show clear guidance on Player Performance Reviews for each player, involving all multi-disciplinary departments in the process, and link these to the learning outcomes of the Academy Coaching Programme and maintenance on the FIP

  • Help to identify talented coaches who can work within the Academy framework through liaison with the FA to identify individuals with potential

  • FA Advanced Youth Award

  • FA Youth Award

  • Age Specific FA Youth Award

  • UEFA B Licence

  • UEFA A Licence

  • Membership of FA Licenced Coaches Club
