Description

The purpose of this role is to manage, lead and deliver the provision of Performance Analysis across the Hamilton Academical Elite Youth Academy. The candidate will also be responsible for the Implementation and management a of coach development structure across the academy.

Key Responsibilities : Academy Analyst

  • To be responsible for leading the academy performance analysis programmes at Hamilton Academical FC as well as delivering analytical support to the Academy Director and coaching staff



  • Manage the requirements of Children’s, Youth development and Professional development phase football. Implementing pre and post match analysis and feedback across age groups.



  • To ensure the management of performance analysis and interns (part/full time).

  • Record all squad training sessions for feedback on player and coach performance, maintaining training databases for best practice.



  • Arrange provision of the opposition footage and provide detailed pre-match presentations outlining oppositions style of play, strengths and weaknesses in all phases of the game for U18s



  • Record and live code all home and away U18s matches. Providing half time video feedback to coaches and players.



  • Upload matches to HUDL’s video sharing platform, creating individual player clips aligned with development plans and goal setting.



  • Create statistical reports and conduct trend analysis aligned with Hamilton’s principles of play.

  • Deliver a variety of video analysis sessions to individuals, units and the team.

  • Assist with player review meeting clips in accordance with the Youth and Professional development phase coaches.• Produce Individual player development plans for academy age group players, supported by best practice footage



  • Produce educational and motivational academy videos.

  • Create player compilation videos for players being released from the academy.


Key Responsibilities : Coach Development Analyst

  • Establish and maintain a sustainable system and approach to coach development within the academy

  • Provide coaches with the individual support required in order to maximise their potential and are consequently able to maximise the potential of the players that they work with



  • Build and maintain relationships throughout the Academy and broader club.

  • To support & help drive a culture of learning within the academy environment.

  • Always work within the remit of the club’s Academy Values and Performance Plan

  • Ensure every coach has a personal Development Action Plan (DAP) that is tailored to meet their needs.

  • Ensure all coaches hold required qualifications for their role and age group and have a CPD plan to ensure licencing is kept up-to-date.

  • Develop a CPD programme that supports the development of the coaching team across all age groups.

  • Provide 1:1 coaching to coaches in order to develop their ability and potential

  • Undertake self-development to ensure knowledge in relation to all aspect of coaching and coach development is up to date and forward thinking.



  • To attend appropriate meetings regarding key issues within the Academy.

  • Work closely with the Academy Management and Multi-Disciplinary Teams to ensure necessary performance standards are met and developed.



  • Ensure the Academy’s Coaching Curriculum is consistently delivered in line with the Academy’s (and/or Club’s) Playing Philosophy and Coaching Philosophy – The HAFC Way



  • Support on the recruitment of part time coaches and other support staff.

  • Oversee the formal appraisal process for each part time coach in the Academy (in-line with their DAP’s).Education/Qualifications/Training:

  • Previous experience working as a performance analyst within a professional football club

  • A relative Degree (Performance Analysis, Coaching, Sport Science etc)(BSc,BA)

  • Knowledge of industry standard software – SportsCode, Studio, Wyscout, HUDL

  • Competent use of apple mac based software – Keynote, iMovie. Abilities/Skills/Knowledge:



  • Coaching qualifications or working towards them

  • A detailed technical and tactical understanding of Football

  • Good presentation skills

  • High organisation skills to be able to prioritise workload effectively under pressure

  • Ability to take initiative as well as work as part of a team

  • Be trustworthy and adhere to clubs code of conduct and ethics

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – liaising with coaches, players and peers

  • This a full time role that includes work on weekends and evenings (negotiable);
