AFC Telford United – vacancy for Head Groundsman

AFC Telford United is recruiting an experienced full time Head Groundsman who will be responsible to ensure the SEAH Stadium pitch is maintained to the highest standard at all times.
Duties include :
preparation of the pitch to a first class standard for all matches played at the SEAH stadium.
carry out daily groundsman duties including cutting grass pitch, watering the pitch, white lining pitch to a high standard and all pre match pitch preparations.
monitor and improve pitch health including creation of work and fertiliser programmes to ensure the pitch is maintained to the highest possible standard.
presenting and managing an end of season pitch renovation programme ensuring the required work is carried out by external suppliers.
grow light movement and maintenance.
moving frost covers in winter.
ensure that all Health and Safety responsibilities are adhered to including goal post safety checks.
clean equipment and wash down areas.
keep all equipment and materials in good condition.
maintain an up-to-date knowledge of all relevant industry developments.
other ad hoc duties in the stadium as and when required.
The successful candidate will be :
qualified in Sports Turf Management or equivalent qualification.
have experience in working on professional sports pitches within a sporting environment.
hard working and willing to get involved with any other duties within the remit of the grounds and stadium department. Be flexible with working hours during peak periods and the successful applicant would be required to work on all matchdays.
someone with excellent organisational skills and with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
a full driving licence is preferable, but not essential.
