Description

We are seeking a proactive, assertive, and approachable professional to join our Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and contribute to the attainment of Nottingham Forest Women’s goals and objectives. The post holder will be responsible for delivering scientific support services to female players, including gym-based training and pitch-based preparation for match days.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design and delivery of a scientifically robust fitness testing monitoring system across all Women’s Teams. Provide relevant, appropriate feedback to players, coaches in a time efficient manner with the primary focus being on health, wellbeing, and performance enhancement.
• Assist in the design and delivery of a scientifically robust physiological/training load monitoring. Provide relevant, appropriate feedback to players, coaches in time efficient manner with the primary focus being on health, wellbeing, and performance enhancement.
• Work with women’s coaches as part of an MDT to understand and integrate their philosophy within the delivery of scientific and strength and conditioning support.
• Work with women’s coaches and other support staff to deliver an interdisciplinary approach to performance development.
• Maintain a comprehensive, indexed database of work conducted with each women’s player, team, and coach.
• Provide regular dashboard updates to the Women’s head coach and medical staff.
• Provide objective sports science opinion and contribute to talent identification using objective fitness testing and physiological monitoring data. Using this data contributes to retain/release decisions via the recruitment forum.
• Always ensure appropriate professional confidentiality and behave at all times to project a professional image of Nottingham Forest Football Club and act in the Club’s best interests.
• Ad hoc duties required by the Head of Women and Girls Football to meet the needs of the business.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

Essential:

• Full UK driving licence or ability to travel to various locations due to the demands of the role.
• BSc in Sports Science or a related field.
• Preferentially hold a Master’s Degree in Sport and Exercise Science or a related discipline.
• Hold UK Strength & Conditioning Association (UKSCA) Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach (ASCC) credential or working towards.
• Football Association Level 2 Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF) qualification.
• Be a UKAS Clean Sport Advisor.
• At least 1 years practical experience working in an elite sport environment.
• Confident communicator at all levels.
• A good team player with the ability to work discreetly, under pressure.
• Experience of working as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends around the training schedule.
• The willingness to partake in ongoing CPD.

Desirable:

• Additional S&C related qualifications (for example NSCA/BWLA/FA Level 3).
• Be a BASES Accredited Sports Scientist.
• HSE recognised First Aid Trainer Certification.
• An understanding of the menstrual cycle and it’s effects on performance.
• Experience of working in Women’s professional football.
