Description

As another successful season draws to a close, Macclesfield Football Club International Academy are looking to expand our excellent full-time coaching team. We strive to provide a full-time training / games model for student-athletes at U19 / U21 / U23 age groups, and are looking for candidates to come in and help us grow and develop for the 2023 / 2024 season. Place of Work:

UCLan Sports Arena (Preston) September to May.

Macclesfield FC (June – August).

Essential: UEFA B License / Sports Related Degree / Full Clean Driving License.

Key Duties:

Lead a Match-Day squad (U19 / U21 / U23) Male or Female.

Lead 4-5 training sessions per week in line with MFC Philosophy.

Lead Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) every 12 weeks.

Understand and actively take part in the MFC Player Retention / Recruitment procedures during the season.

Be willing to work un-sociable hours.

Lead upon the Summer Residency Programme (Full month of July)

Be available and eligible for recruitment and delivery in the USA.

Typical working hours: 11:00am – 6:00pm (Evening / weekend fixtures may occur).

Start Date: September 1st, 2023 (Available for induction w/c August 28th).

Main Objectives

  • To lead and deliver the day-to-day operations of the international Academy.

  • To lead and deliver all aspects of Coaching at the designated MFC department in line with the clubPhilosophy and syllabus.



  • To ensure that all the ‘Individual Player Development Plans’ are completed and consistently updated at MFC in order to provide a clear pathway of development for all within the Academy system.



  • To assist with recruitment and retention of all international student-athletes. Summary of Duties



  • To manage and lead match day squads.

  • Monitor and support the transition of players between the international academy pathway (U19 – U23).

  • To liaise with the Heads of department on all matters, including managing relationships with external partners.

  • To work in line with the Philosophy of MFC including the ‘aims and vision’ of MFC.

  • To work closely with the MFC Technical Lead in regard to the Coaching syllabus and programme.

  • To be prepared to do other duties to further the development of MFC as and when required.

  • To contribute effectively to the day-day operations.

  • To attend and contribute to all relevant In-Service training.

  • To attend all relevant staff meetings.

  • To keep up to date with all MFC correspondence.

  • To regularly engage upon CPD both MFC and individually sourced.

  • To show clear evidence of planning and evaluating.

  • To ensure that all the relevant administration is kept up to date.

  • To provide transportation to and from fixtures or events as per the needs of MFC.

  • To effectively support the international recruitment leads in all aspects of player recruitment.

  • To lead and deliver upon the ‘Summer Residential ID Clinic.


Essential

  • Flexible working hours required. Local, national and international travel where necessary.

  • An understanding and appreciation of the US and UK educational system.

  • Understand and appreciate both the football and operational demands of the football club.

  • Must interconnect with all relevant MFC departments.

  • Must have experience of using Microsoft word, Excel, PPT etc.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Have a flexible attitude to work.

  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

  • Have a polite and courteous manner.

  • Be organised and have good time management skills.

  • The ability to meet stringent deadlines.

  • Be able to adapt to different and changing situations.

  • Knowledge and understanding to company policies/procedures and regulations relating to your role.

  • Ability to liaise with footballers, coaches, management and other football related individuals in a professional manner.



  • FA Level 2 Coaching in Football.

  • Hold a current DBS certificate.

  • Full clean driving licence (21 years + in age).

  • Be prepared to work evenings and weekends.


Desirable

  • Previous experience of working within the football or related industry.

  • FA Level 3 (UEFA B) Coaching in Football.

  • Sports related degree/qualifications.

  • The FA Learning Safeguarding Children Certificate.

  • The FA Basic First Aid for Sport.


Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £23,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
