Wigan Athletic Community Trust is recruiting for a Football and Sports Development Manager to develop and manage a range of commercial football and sport activities that increase the unrestricted income of Wigan Athletic Community Trust to further benefit its charitable objectives.

Full Time
£25,000 - £30,000

You will:
• Manage and expand a football development programme that includes evening, weekend and match day coaching.
• Oversee, manage and increase the Community Trust’s school holiday provision including football, dance and multi-sport courses.
• Troubleshoot issues and problems across all areas of the football and sports development provision.
• Be the lead contact with Wigan Council to ensure the Community Trust are a delivery partner for the Holidayand Activity and Food (HAF) programme.
• Manage relationships with venues and customers to ensure that they receive an excellent service and continue to engage with the Community Trust.
• Conduct termly quality assurance visits, including creating a customer survey, addressing development needs and tackling any poor performance effectively.
• Recruit, train and manage part time and sessional coaches who help deliver the football and sports programme.

The successful candidate will:

• Be educated to a degree standard in a community or sports development related subject.
• Have a proven track record of developing and delivering innovative and effective community sports and education projects linked to national partners such as the Premier League, EFL Trust and the PFA.
• Experienced in securing significant funding for projects and activities from a range of funders including: charities, local authorities, commercial partners and health bodies.
• Experienced within a leadership role and of helping to establish a positive culture amongst staff members.
• Have a proven track record of managing diverse teams including project delivery staff.
• The ability and energy to inspire and motivate colleagues of all levels to enable the organisation to achieve its objectives.
• An excellent understanding of Wigan Athletic Community Trust’s vision, strategy and objectives.
• A good understanding of Community Trust’s programmes and activities linked to Schools, Community Development and Training and Skills.
