Your day-to-day
- Leading the generation and maintenance of video databases and statistical data for the team with a view to enhancing team and player development.
- Providing feedback to coaches and players around team performance and areas of development.
- Working alongside the wider analytics team to produce short, medium and long term reviews around team development and the evolution of our game model.
- Supporting with the profiling of opposition team focusing on adding a more specific level to our pre-match processes through the application of video and analytics.
- Supporting with the preparation of all pre-match opposition analysis content.
- Supporting with the collection and maintenance of video databases relating to our individual players.
- Attending all home matches and travelling with the team to away matches when required.
- Assisting with the troubleshooting of match-day networks and liaising with external data providers.
- Providing support for the ad-hoc individual analysis of first team players. This would include both the preparation of material and presentation to coaches and players.
- Supporting with the generation and maintenance of video and statistical training databases.
- Assisting with generating and maintaining short, medium and long term training reports.
- Collaborating with the analytics team to automate working processes.
What we are looking for
- Experience working as an analyst at the elite level of football.
- Undergraduate degree relating to the field of sports science, data science or performance analysis.
- Post-graduate qualification in a related discipline (Desirable).
- UEFA B coaching licence (Desirable).
- Experience in accurately analysing multiple and often complex data streams in order to understand performance.
- Ability to profile elite football players.
- Experience in delivering and communicating performance insights to key stakeholders in the organisation.
- Understanding of varying working methodologies and best practice within elite sports analysis.
- Deep technical and tactical understanding of football (players, strategies, systems, philosophies, game models).
- Exceptional inter-personal skills that facilitate the effective delivery of performance insights, build connections and support a strong team cohesion.
- Competencies in the following software/hardware (Desirable): GameOn, SBG Match Tracker, HUDL Sportscode Elite and HUDL Studio and HUDL Platforms, SBG Focus.
