First Team Technical Coach

About The Role

Leicester City Football Club is looking to recruit a First Team Technical Coach to continue to enhance the technical team provision for our women’s team. They will join a technical department that has contributed heavily to the continued growth of the women’s professional game and achieve sustained success. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical, tactical and physical development of all players.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have significant experience of coaching in an elite-level sporting environment and be able to adapt and integrate themselves into the philosophy and methodology promoted by LCFC Women.

Main duties and tasks that this role is responsible for include;

-Attending all training sessions and Matches played by the Women’s First Team.

-To assist in creating a culture that maximises the talent of each Club Player in all aspects of the four-corner model to maximise the quality of team performance.

-To assist in building a successful winning first team.

-Sharing any safeguarding concerns with the Women’s Safeguarding Manager and/or Head of Safeguarding.

-Administration;

  • Computerises sessions as well as match warm-ups.

  • Monitor the evolution of potential suspensions.

  • Ensure the link with the Academy.

  • Presence during medical meetings and provide debriefing to staff.

  • Management of players’ IDP


-Training;

  • Participate in session preparation discussions.

  • Assistance in planning and creating training content.

  • Installation and tracking of sessions (when necessary) as well as its storage.

  • Animation of part of a session in close collaboration with the assistant manager and the manager.

  • Instil energy and motivation during sessions.

  • Animations of technical parts.

  • Management of opponents.

  • Ensure ball source and point counting (when necessary).

  • Provide individual technical injury return and complementary sessions.

  • Ensure the continuity of sessions by uninstalling and/or installing the equipment quickly.


-Analysis;

  • Retrieve and process individual images during sessions when necessary.

  • Retrieve and process individual images during matches.


-Matches;

  • Participate in match preparation discussions.

  • Animation of the defensive part of the warm-up.

  • Observe, while remaining calm and standing back, the progress of the match.

  • Ensure the link with the video analyst and the assistant manager.

  • Be ready for any request from the assistant manager or manager.

  • Observation of the players’ state of fatigue.

  • Observe the preparation of entrants.


Essential criteria for candidates to meet:

-Be a minimum UEFA A Qualified Coach.

-FA Licensed Coach (Member of the Licensed Coaches Club to cover safeguarding and first aid).

-Previous experience at a senior level and within the women’s game.

-Minimum 3 years’ experience of working within a professional football environment.

-Track record of consistent high performance in a professional environment.

-A commitment to continuing professional development

-Strong existing relationships within the Women’s pyramid in England and other international teams.

-Technical detail

-Holds an in-date FA Safeguarding Children Certificate or is willing to complete the FA Safeguarding Children Workshop within 3 months.

-To undertake regular Club safeguarding training updates (CPD) appropriate to the role.

From its formation in 2004, the Club was run on an amateur and semi-professional basis with support from Leicester City Football Club.
