Description

Job purpose:

Bromley Football Club are offering Sport Science/Strength & Conditioning internships for the entire 2023/24 Vanarama National League Season. The internship will offer an exciting and valuable experience working within elite professional football.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with player load monitoring and management

  • Assist with the delivery of both pitch-based and gym-based S&C sessions

  • Assist with data analysis and reporting

  • Assist with anthropometric and performance testing procedures

  • Delivery of nutrition and hydration strategies

  • Training and match day support

  • Maintain an appropriate framework for effective management of sport science and S&C facilities

  • Participate in internal/external CPD activities

  • Be actively involved in an interdisciplinary approach of working within the club

  • Compliance with Bromley Football Club policies

  • Compliance with the Club’s health and safety procedures

  • To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected (Club and Community endorsement)

  • To maintain professional conduct at all times


Person Specification:

The ideal candidates will be passionate about football, and should have a strong desire to build a career within professional football. The roles would be most suited to current students who are currently enrolled on a undergraduate Sport and Exercise Science degree or equivalent which includes a mandatory placement year.

  • An ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team

  • An ability to be adaptable in the face of a dynamic and ever changing environment

  • An excellent and confident communicator

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills

  • High level of attention to detail

  • Desire to learn

  • Proficiency in IT software

  • An ability to work calmly under pressure

  • Passion for football

  • An up to date knowledge regarding research and methods within sport science and S&C


Desirable

  • Experience of having coached athletes/players in a practical setting

  • Prior experience of working within sport, preferably football

  • Experience in supervising and showing leadership skills


Education:

Essential

  • Undertaking a BSc Sport Science, Strength & Conditioning or a related field of study

  • Evidence of engagement in CPD Desirable

  • Wish to gain experience in a professional football club environment
