Job Title: 1st Team Physiotherapist Line Manager: Head of Medical Services

Purpose of Job:

Bristol Rovers Football Club are seeking to appoint a highly motivated individual to the position of Junior 1st Team Physiotherapist. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting and implementing the delivery of the medical teams’ plan, established by the Head of Medical Services.

Main Responsibilities

• The Physiotherapist will assist the Head of Medical in the development of the medical service at Bristol Rovers Football Club.
• In the absence of the Head of Medical they are to provide leadership to the medical department including allocation of duties to medical staff and liaison with the coaching staff regarding player availability.
• The Physiotherapist will lead the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of the first team players assigned to them by the Head of Medical in a professional manner using up to date evidence.
• They will liaise with the Head of Medical regarding the progress of all injured players.
• They will develop and implement industry leading injury reduction strategies.
• To play a key role in the 1st team successfully achieving their ambitious aims and objectives.
• They will be an ambassador of the Bristol Rovers Football Club culture.

Experience/Qualifications/TraininG

• Relevant degree qualification in Physiotherapy (BSc / Msc)
• Registered Member of the CSP & HCPC.
• 1 year post graduate work experience.
• Full Clean UK Driving Licence.
• Experience of clinically assessing, diagnosing and and rehabilitating a wide range of neuromuscular and orthopaedic conditions in elite athletes.
• Evidence of developing, implementing and evaluating physiotherapy programmes for elite atheltes, demonstrating advanced clinical reasoning skills.
• Evidence of working in a multi-disciplinary team in a professional sporting environment.
• Evidence of implementing profiling and screening methods for elite athletes.
• Previous experience of working as a physiotherapist in professional football environment.
• Evidence of delivering high quality football specific outdoor rehabilitation sessions.
• Experience of using Benchmark notes system.
• MSc or working towards.
• ATMMiF.

• Maintains high standards of personal appearance, conduct, respect for company property and reputation
• Works within the appropriate company policies and procedures including health and safety
• Information about players, suppliers, contracts, tenders and other commercially sensitive matters etc are considered confidential and must not be divulged without prior authority
