Hull City Football Club have an exciting opportunity for an energetic and driven individual to join our First Team as Physical Performance Coach, based at our training ground in Cottingham, East Yorkshire.
As the First Team Physical Performance Coach you will be responsible for Gym-based Strength & Conditioning development of the First Team Squad as well as assisting with all First Team Sport Science & Conditioning Practices.

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Contract Type: Permanent, full time (working 37.5 hours per week, to include evenings and weekends, as per match requirements)

Your key responsibilities
• Support the Head of Physical Performance with the delivery of Physical Conditioning services to all first team players.
• In conjunction with the Head of Physical Performance, lead Gym Based Strength and Conditioning programming, development & delivery to all 1st Team Players.
• Design and deliver additional strength and conditioning services such as additional group/individualized sessions highlighted as areas for development within the squad schedule.
• Support the Sport Scientist in all gym screening and testing procedures.
• Develop and implement systems and methodologies to evaluate the success of programs/plans to provide relevant information that positively affects day to day coaching and practice.
• Design and maintain a database that tracks gym load and evaluate daily, weekly and seasonal performances/developments.
• Maintain a well organised and structured dataset on all testing/monitoring and screening data that has been collected in order to drive practices from an objective perspective and provide rationale for decisions made.
• Support the multi-disciplinary team in aligning wider sports science and strength and conditioning support to agreed performance outcomes.
• Lead on all Gym Based Return to play S&C programming.
• Assist and support other members of staff within the Sport Science and Medical department to ensure the smooth running of the support provided to players and coaching staff.
• Ensure the latest innovations and research findings within professional football and elite sport are analysed, assessed, and brought into Hull City Football Club where they will improve practices and performance.
• Report any problems immediately to the Head of Medical & Performance or the next most senior member of staff on duty within the department.
• Contribute to the production of an off-season program in conjunction with the other staff to manage player’s progressive integration back into the pre-season programme.
• Be willing to provide support and guidance to other staff members.
What are we looking for?
• BSc Sports Science, Strength and Conditioning or Related Field (essential)
• MSc or higher Degree Strength and Conditioning or Sports and Exercise Science, or currently working towards one (essential)
• Strength and Conditioning Qualification (UKSCA or equivalent) or ability to obtain within 12 months. (essential)
• Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience (essential)
• Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team within a sports medicine environment preferably with adult athletes (essential)
• Experience of Working with Elite Athletes (essential)
• ISAK Accreditation
• BASES accredited practitioner
• Valid First Aid Certificate / National Sports First Aid Course
• Demonstrate a high-level of practical delivery
• Demonstrate a high level of planning and organisation
• Willingness to work unsociable hours and weekends
• Understanding of a constantly changing culture/demand
• Ability to create relationships with players and identified support network to effectively support injury rehabilitation and performance needs
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
• Excellent interpersonal capabilities, including IT and presentation skills to communicate effectively at all levels
