Job Description

Job Purpose

The Female Football Development Coordinator will support Palace for Life Foundation’s football development programmes, which bring in valuable income and support the physical and educational development of children and young people, using the brand of a professional football club.

The role will be responsible for assisting the smooth running of the Foundation’s fee-paying football provisions, including Soccer Schools during the school holidays, Player Development Centres, University programmes and Post-16 football programmes across South London. The role will also lead on the Wildcats programme, and support delivery with the Primary Education team.


Job Summary

  • Supporting and coordinating the delivery of a high-quality football activity programme across South London. These include the Boys Player Development Centres, Girls Player Development Centres and Goalkeeper Development Centres. Tasks will include the allocation of staff to programmes, communication with staff regarding the delivery of sessions, and ensuring the sessions are of a high standard.

  • Supporting the Soccer School programme. This includes the allocation of staff to venues, sending out emails for invites, developing and overseeing course content, and assisting the Football Development Manager to increase participation in all courses.

  • Assisting and supporting with the Foundation's Post 16 programmes and University programmes at the Roehampton University site.

  • Organising and delivering monthly and termly meetings with Development Centre staff to ensure the quality of our programme. This is to discuss the programme, what is or isn’t working, and how we can continuously keep the standard at a high level.

  • Leading on the Wildcats Programme.

  • Supporting delivery within the Primary Education team to increase engagement in football sessions.

  • Working closely with the Football Development Manager and other Football Development Coordinator in managing coaches, sharing good practices, recruitment of football coaches and overseeing the Football Development programmes.

  • Quality assuring both our Player Development Centres and Soccer Schools, making sure the Foundation/Club’s safeguarding guidelines are in place, all compliance measures are enforced and coaches are delivering the coaching curriculum.

  • Delivering football sessions at Player Development Centres and Soccer Schools. Attend at least two Player Development Centres per week.

  • Supporting on other Foundation programmes when needed.


Job Requirements

Essential

  • Sound knowledge and experience of working within Football Development;

  • Minimum UEFA C Licence in Coaching Football;

  • A passion and interest in developing a programme to support the development of young players;

  • Experience in coordinating a football development programme, leading staff and sustaining and maintaining relationships;

  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment;

  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and some weekends;

  • Must be able to represent Palace for Life Foundation in a confident and professional manner, and have the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, including coaches, parents, people at all levels within the Foundation, the parent club and high-level outside contacts;

  • Experience in delivering high-quality football sessions and PE lessons;

  • Commitment to high quality sport provision and committed to providing the best possible opportunities for all participants;

  • A positive, "can do" attitude with the ability to inspire and lead a team;

  • An enthusiastic, proactive approach combined with a determination to achieve.

  • Excellent communication/presentation skills both written and verbal;

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.


Desirable

  • UEFA B Licence in Coaching Football;

  • Existing enhanced DBS check;

  • Full clean drivers licence;

  • Knowledge of the football pyramid and Academy player pathways;

  • Connections with grassroots teams across South London;

  • Experience creating successful promotional campaigns;

  • Experience in using data systems and online booking systems.
