About the opportunity: We have an exciting opportunity for a WSL Academy Goalkeeping Coach to join the Women’s Football department.
As WSL Academy Goalkeeping Coach, you will be responsible for the planning, organisation, delivery and review of the Professional Game Academy and Elite Academy age group appropriate goalkeeping curriculum.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Delivering the elite level, age appropriate, goalkeeping coaching curriculum in alignment with the Club and Academy coaching philosophy, ensuring the Club’s playing principles and style of play are adhered to.
- To periodically review the goalkeeping coaching curriculum to ensure it fits with the Club and Academy playing and coaching philosophies, that it caters for individual needs, and takes into account modern trends within the game
- Working with the Senior Manager – Womens Academy and Head Coaches to produce and deliver detailed regular individual goalkeeper progress reviews and produce and implement individual goalkeeper development plans for goalkeepers
- To assist with the evaluation of all coaching sessions and matches and ensure that the relevant information is recorded fully
- To profile the technical, tactical, physical, and psychological attributes of each player, then create and agree individual development programmes for them
- To attend all home and away games, on behalf of the PGA Squad
- To be aware of current trends, marginal gains and best practice in Player Development
- To attend staff meetings and CPD events as required
- To work with u21s head coach to secure dual registration clubs for u21s goalkeeper
Who we are looking for: We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who has experience of working with elite young footballers within Women’s Football.
It is essential that the successful candidate has the following knowledge, skills and experience;
- UEFA B Licence Goalkeeping Coaching Award
- Completed or undertaking FA Youth Award (Modules 1-3 including assessment)
- Safeguarding certificate
- Basic First Aid Qualification
- Experience and knowledge gained from working in an elite football environment
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
