The Elite Referee Development Plan (ERDP) is a strategic performance plan, owned by Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), but funded and supported by the Premier League. The ERDP is designed to establish a new global standard in match officiating performance and development. The plan addresses immediate priorities and builds a pathway that is sustainable into the future.

The Premier League’s Football Development Department is looking for an ERDP Operations and Project Manager to organise the delivery of Premier League support to the plan, governance arrangements, project reporting including budgets. The right candidate will have exceptional organisational skills and a strong background in project management.

We have a wide variety of responsibilities. These include organising the competition and its Rule Book as well as managing the centralised broadcast and commercial rights. The work we do in conjunction with the Clubs also goes far beyond the 90 minutes. We support and provide a framework for youth development, we protect the organisation’s intellectual property, support the wider game and community programmes, undertake international development work and liaise with governing bodies and other leagues.

Our hybrid-working model also allows you some variety on your place of work, offering you the chance to work from home on some days each week. Where possible, you will attend the office or site visits in line with our company policy. All staff liaise closely with their line manager to manage their time appropriately and according to their work and team requirements.

The role

  • Co-ordinate the operational delivery of all Premier League supported elements of the ERDP

  • Manage all ERDP project systems and processes:

  • Budget planning, forecasting and tracking;

  • Project planner, tracker, analysis of KPI’s and review system;

  • Resource management (on-line LMS system);

  • Quality Assurance and standards; and

  • Risk and issue management

  • Organise and deliver the governance arrangements for the ERDP

  • Provide regular reporting updates for ERDP ‘Focus Areas’ and projects

  • Work in close partnership with PGMOL to support the delivery of the ERDP

  • Work in partnership with the Planning and Projects colleagues in the Football Development Department

  • Manage relationships and communicate effectively with Stakeholders

  • Perform any other duties or responsibilities as reasonably required by the Premier League


Requirements for the role

  • High-level planning and organisation skills

  • High-level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills

  • Experience of leading and delivering projects

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • DBS Clearance
