Description

We have a brilliant opportunity for a Chef to join our Women's Technical team on a casual contract. You will deliver an exceptional dining experience which engages players and provides consistent high-quality food provision.

On top of the above, you will plan and create exciting menus in line with the performance nutrition strategy to support the player's nutritional requirements and provide a positive dining experience for players and staff.

This position will work collaboratively with the Lead Performance Nutritionist and Senior Performance Nutritionist to ensure that the menu and food delivery supporting individual and team requirements.

The expected number of days will vary depending on the competition calendar and preparation camps for the season but is expected to be around 60-100 days.

What You'll Do?

  • Provide world-class food provision to the women's Senior team for camps and major tournaments both at home and abroad.

  • Work in collaboration with the lead performance nutritionist and senior performance nutritionist to develop exciting and varied menus that are in line with the performance nutrition strategy.

  • Plan out and execute tournament menus that take into account the challenges of long tournaments relating to food fatigue, fuelling challenges and nutritional demands.

  • Work with a range of hotels and catering teams to plan and execute the menus to a high standard.

  • Develop relationships and build rapport with staff and players to support a positive dining experience.

  • Provide live cooking stations during meal service to engage with players and staff and to accommodate individual requirements.

  • Work to ensure that menus are delivered on budget and with consideration for food waste and sustainability.

  • Support the delivery of the nutrition strategy based on a food-first approach that develops a positive and engaging culture around food to support player's health and performance.

  • Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group's changing priorities.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and well-being can be maintained.

  • As part of The FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.


What You'll Need?

Essential for the role:

  • A relevant chef qualification at NVQ Levels 1 & 2.

  • Food hygiene level 3.

  • Experience of working in an elite or professional sports environment.

  • Experience of working in kitchens abroad.

  • Some knowledge of sports nutrition and a willingness to learn.

  • Ability to build rapport with players and staff quickly.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to work alongside other chefs and nutritionists.

  • Experience of managing a budget and building menus.

  • A passion to cater for professional sports teams.


Beneficial to have:

  • Experience working with female athletes.

  • Experience working in a team sport environment.
