Job Purpose: Swansea City are looking for a qualified and experienced EFL/ESOL teacher who enjoys working with teenagers and delivering engaging and motivating lessons. The teacher will provide one hour of communicative language classes a week to a group of up to twenty minors who are aged between 16-18 years old as part of the Swansea City Foundation Unaccompanied refugee and asylum-seeking minors project.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching English classes to a group of up to twenty young people (aged 16-18) who are part of the Swansea City Unaccompanied refugee and asylum-seeking minors project.
- Planning and delivering engaging and communicative lessons based on a suggested syllabus.
- Keeping students’ attendance and progress records along with any other records which may be requested.
- Providing appropriate feedback on students’ oral and written work.
- Ensuring lessons start and finish punctually.
- Ensuring that sufficient copies of teaching materials are copied and in place before the lesson is due to begin.
- Producing student leaving certificates and reports if requested.
- Ensuring the teaching space is left in a clean and tidy condition after each lesson.
- Being committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the students and ensuring that they are protected from physical or emotional harm.
- Reporting safeguarding or behaviour concerns to the appropriate person.
