Description

West Ham United Foundation (WHUF) are looking for an Education Officer to deliver our interventions working with young people who are excluded from mainstream education to develop their life skills, raise aspirations, improve physical and mental wellbeing.

You will have a youth work, teaching or sports coaching background, and be passionate about social mobility and working with challenging young people, understanding the barriers, issues and influences affecting them.

While the role is delivery focused, you will also be responsible for supporting the Foundation increase our network of schools, build relationships with key services/partners, and ensure the successful collection of monitoring and evaluation data.

You must be aware of relevant risk management and safeguarding considerations, be able to work within WHUF policies and procedures, and be committed to supporting WHUF’s vision and mission.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Education Manager, the Education Officer will:

  • Act as the lead for all Alternative Provision programmes and manage operational delivery.

  • Deliver all group sessions/workshops, one to one interventions, and events involving Alternative Provisions.

  • Engage with young people in meaningful and impactful ways in Alternative Provisions and community settings across east London and                Essex.

  • Develop and build relationships with Alternative Provisions, expanding and improving our delivery model to grow the Moore Family Foundation programme.


*  Contribute to the wider development of the WHU Foundation.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Attend conferences, meetings & training where necessary.

  • Plan and deliver sessions that engage and inspire learners, appropriate for young people in an Alternative Provision setting.

  • Engage positively with vulnerable and at-risk young people.

  • Monitor and record young people’s engagement using the CRM system/s.

  • Complete all Risk Assessment procedures using the internal systems.

  • Lead the design of Alternative Provision sessions and workshops.

  • Recruit Alternative Provisions to the programme.

  • To develop and manage professional relationships with stakeholders.

  • Support the delivery of a high quality, safe and to specification programme for WHUF.

  • To understand and manage own performance against contractual KPIs.

  • To work with the wider Education Department to support the development of other programmes where applicable.

  • To work with the Education Manager to grow our provision in Alternative Provisions.

  • To act as the lead for any new Alternative Provision programmes delivered by WHUF.

  • Any other duties as reasonably requested by the line manager / organisation.
