Wigan Athletic Community Trust is looking to recruit an Education Officer to assist in the effective delivery of the organisation’s secondary school projects, including Premier League Inspires and Alternative Provision.
Salary: £22,000 - £25,000 per annum
You will:
- Provide mentoring support to young people in secondary schools and develop programmes to help them achieve their best.
- Work alongside school staff, other local providers and Community Trust staff to improve pupils’ social and emotional wellbeing.
- Work with selected secondary schools and alternative education providersas part of the Premier League Inspires project to run activities for pupils who are at risk of not reaching their potential.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with local partners, secondary schools and Wigan Council.
- Support the Secondary School Manager to monitor, evaluate and compile evidence on the progress of the project reporting back to key funders as required.
- Ensure all activities are correctly monitored with the appropriate risk assessments and health and safety procedures put in place.
- Support the delivery of all other Secondary School based projects including Alternative Provision.
You will be:
- Educated to a degree standard (or equivalent) in a sport or community related subject.
- Confident when working with hard-to-reach young people in an educational environment.
- Experienced in the delivery of educational workshops/lessons.
- Experienced in building and maintaining effective relationships with schools and liaising with school staff at all levels.
- Able to travel to different sites to deliver sessions.
