Job Summary

Are you a highly motivated sports coach who believes in the power of sport to change lives? We are looking for a Disability Sports Officer to play a pivotal role in delivering our successful inclusive sports programmes.

Job Description

As Disability Sports Officer you will:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality disability football and sports programmes across South London, including regular sessions at primary, secondary, special education and mainstream schools;

  • Work closely with partner organisations including schools, local authorities, county FAs, the Premier League, and impairment-specific groups, to maintain current programmes and set up new sessions;

  • Support sessional disability coaches to deliver high-quality sessions;

  • Support the wider Disability Sports team with data entry and reports;

  • Liaise regularly with other Foundation staff to support inclusion work across the Foundation and promote cross-working;

  • Work with the Communications team to create case studies and increase the profile of disability programmes.


Person Specification

As successful candidate you will have:

  • A passion for supporting young and disadvantaged people with disabilities, and belief in the power of sport to change lives;

  • Experience in delivering high-quality football sessions to people with disabilities, with a proven track record of achievement and quality session delivery;

  • Understanding of different impairments and experience supporting people with different needs;

  • FA Level 1 (or above) qualification in football coaching, and ideally a qualification in disability sports;

  • The ability to develop positive relationships with colleagues and partner organisations;

  • The ability to keep calm under pressure, be self motivated and work well within a team;

  • Availability for some evening/weekend work.
