Description

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

- To manage the Safeguarding Programme for Hartlepool United Football Club.

- To ensure conversance with relevant legislation, policies, procedures and best practice.

- To work closely with staff across the Organisation and create a positive, safe environment.

- To develop, implement and review safeguarding policies and processes to ensure they meet legislation, guidance and are kept relevant.

- To co-ordinate the dissemination of policy, procedures, and awareness throughout the organisation.

- To deliver safeguarding induction training for staff.

- To work in accordance with FA safeguarding standards and audited practices.

- To be the main point of contact for audit procedures (EFL, PL, NL, Barnardo’s, EPPP (Elite Player Performance Plan) and any others as required.

- To record, manage and investigate all reported safeguarding concerns, managing cases appropriately.

- To maintain accurate, confidential, and up to date documentation on all cases of safeguarding and child protection, reporting where required in line with GDPR regulations – presenting these reports to the SSM monthly and at board meetings when required.

- Ensure all policies relating to safeguarding and welfare are signed off by the Board annually or when required due to changes in legislation or best practice.

- To lead the development and establishment of the Organisation’s approach to safeguarding children, young people, and adults at risk – ensuring safeguarding standards are met and maintained.

- To provide advice and support to all of the Organisation’s staff and volunteers in relation to safeguarding.

- To manage the electronic case management system My Concern, recording and tracking concerns and allegations pertaining to the safety and welfare of children and adults at risk.

- To represent the Organisation at external multi agency safeguarding meetings.

- To support and promote the Organisation’s values and EDI Policy in every aspect of your work

- To ensure a person-centred approach is taken no matter the issue, sign posting where required.

- To work closely with the Organisation’s Academy, ensuring the safeguarding ethos is embedded, and to support with player care and scholar accommodation.

-To oversee DBS returns and handle those returned with highlighted concerns.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

Desirable

- Degree level qualification in safeguarding

- FA Safeguarding Certificate or equivalent

- FA Emergency Aid or equivalent

- Ability to write and deliver training across different departments and engage key internal and external stakeholders

Essential

- At least 1-2 years of working within safeguarding and/or child or adult protection roles.

- Experience in implementing policy and procedures.

- Ability to provide evidence of promoting good practice, continuous improvement, and management of safeguarding concerns.

- Ability to demonstrate experience of advising on the safeguarding of vulnerable groups.

- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of current safeguarding legislation, guidance, best practice, and policies in respect of the welfare of vulnerable groups, Children and Adults at risk.

- Ability to demonstrate experience of managing and investigating safeguarding allegations.

- An understanding of child protection requirements.

- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of childcare legislation, guidance regulations, and best practice.

- A full UK driving licence or ability to travel to various locations, due to role demands.
