We are looking for an individual with an extensive experience of developing and executing major global marketing campaigns for blue chip brands to join our team as Creative Director - for Liverpool FC’s partnerships business.
In this role, you will lead the Partnerships Creative Team through the next phase of its evolution and extend the team’s remit further across the creative disciplines, creating a function that injects ideas, innovation and marketing campaign expertise into every stage of the partner journey.
You will develop big ideas that capture the imagination of prospects/partners and showcase the possibility of what a partnership with Liverpool FC can deliver. You will understand the alchemy of blending different rights and assets to create outstanding campaigns and appreciate how a great idea moves from concept to execution. Critically, you see data as tool to guide the creative process rather than something unrelated to it.
You will be the key advisor on all department creative matters, working not only to enhance the day-to-day output, but also developing a strategy to establish LFC as a bastion of creative excellence within the sports and entertainment space.
What will you be doing? Enhance partnership sales/renewals by developing inspiring ideas and concepts that secure partnerships with major global brands
- Be able to immerse yourself in a brand, regardless of industry or geography
- Digest a brief and identify the critical elements
- Generate ideas for how prospective partners can utilise the LFC platform to deliver on their marketing objectives
- Articulate how an idea becomes a campaign and bring this to life through a variety of mediums
- Be bold and unafraid to present ideas that challenge conventions, but maintain a humility and willingness to work collaboratively to find the right balance between innovation and pragmatism in any given situation
Inject creative excellence into our management and servicing of club partners
- Act as a creative resource for the Partnership Delivery Team
- Support on individual partner briefs where additional creative heft is required to deliver an outstanding service for club partners
- Attend partner meetings / workshops where skill set is required
Provide effective and inspiring leadership to the Partnerships Creative Team
- Thoughtfully manage direct reports, providing clear guidance on how they can best utilise their time and skills to deliver on their goals and objectives
- Be a mentor for all members of the team and support the broader development of the individuals within the group
- Develop excellent relationships with other teams within the partnerships department and across the wider club, becoming someone who helps us navigate day-to-day challenges
Ongoing development of Liverpool FC’s creative capabilities
- Work with senior stakeholders within Partnerships and the wider club to identify development opportunities within our creative functions
- Establish a framework and vision for future expansion of the Partnerships Creative Team
Who are we looking for? To be successful in this role, you will have experience developing and executing major global marketing campaigns for blue chip brands, gained at an agency or brand-side. Ideally, you will have experience and knowledge of the sports and entertainment landscape. You will have a demonstrable track record of developing creative ideas and concepts that win business during pitch processes. You will have proven capability to balance delivery of long-term projects with the demands of an exciting fast-paced working environment.
As a charismatic and engaging storyteller with dexterity across a range of different mediums, you can direct creative designers with authority and clarity of vision. With your gravitas and credibility, you can meaningfully contribute to meetings and discussions with C-suite executives.
