Role Summary:

Millwall Football Club are looking to recruit a highly efficient and competent Conference & Events Sales Manager to drive the conference and non-matchday business at this London sporting event venue.

As this is an established venue you will also be responsible for managing the existing client relationships, maintaining strong relations, ensuring regular contact and in turn driving repeat business.

In addition, we are looking for someone to take the venue forward, creating new relationships with both potential customers and agents, generating enquiries and building up a local network of new corporate clients. We require an individual with a good understanding of the industry and proven track record of converting business in a target driven environment.

Reporting directly into the Head of Commercial and working closely with the senior leadership team of the Football Club, the role will also involve working with internal and external clients from enquiry through to event delivery, and working closely with the Head of Catering Operations to ensure best in class delivery in line with the agreed client brief.

Key Responsibilities:

The role includes, but is not limited to:

Oversight and overall responsibility for conference and event sales at The Den outside of matchdays.
To proactively source new business at the venue and identify new opportunities to grow this business area.
Build strong relationships and develop new client accounts.
Focus on sourcing new business and creating own appointments and lead generation
Work with both corporate clients and agencies to deliver new business target
Attend both onsite and offsite appointments and to be a positive representative of the venue and Football Club
Produce and deliver high value proposals at a senior level to potential clients
Develop a regular calendar of events to bring continued business and clients to the venue.
Work with the marketing team to ensure all content (pictures and video) are updated to showcase events and the venue.
Support management of delivery of commercial related events like Partner Events, Golf Days and End of Season Awards.
Produce weekly, monthly and quarterly sales activity report for the senior leadership team.
Ensure all finances and invoicing is up to date and accurate.
Review current process to ensure contract and terms and conditions are up to date and accurate.
Research and attend business exhibitions locally and nationally
Achieve KPI’s as set and agreed with Head of Commercial
Work as a team player with all departments, including utilising commercial administrator to assist in administration and financial reporting and control.
Ensure all leads and activities are continuously followed up to maximise revenue conversion.
To demonstrate the ability to negotiate rates and secure business, by understanding the needs of the customer and deliver them in a commercial and practical manor, while ensuring agreed margins are maximised.
The role may include some matchday working, which will be agreed in advance.
The role will be predominantly office based, however some travel and remote working will be necessary.
As the role develops, identify ways to grow the team to match growth of the business whilst ensuring a best in class experience for customers.

Essential Requirements:

A minimum of two years' experience in a sales or account management environment in the venue sales or hospitality industry
Proven experience of meeting and exceeding targets and KPIs
Resilient mindset
Ability to build strong and long-lasting relationships
Effective communication skills both written and oral
A self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to work flexibly with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Outgoing personality, with an interest in hospitality
