Wigan Athletic Community Trust is looking to recruit community coaches to join its successful and impactful community development team and support young people across the local community.
The successful candidates will provide high quality sport provision to the participants on the Community Trust’s youth engagement projects, engaging positively with young people and help to raise their aspirations.
Salary: £12 per hour
Contact Type: Casual zero-hour contract
You will:
- Deliver and support the Community Trust’s community-based football sessions.
- Engage positively with young people with enthusiasm, acting as a role model to participants at all times.
- Manage behaviour of participants during sessions.
- Ensure that all activities delivered are in line with the Trust guidelines and policies.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with other coaches, external partners and venue hire staff.
- Collect the required monitoring information and ensure it is recorded accurately following the Community Trust policies and procedures.
- Ensure all activities are correctly monitored with the appropriate risk assessments and health and safety procedures put in place.
- Assist in the delivery and support of young people with workshops around relevant topics associated with Youth Voice and Social Action as part of the Premier League Kicks funding.
You will have:
- National Governing Body Level 2 Coaching Award, preferably FA Level 2 Football Coaching Award (UEFA ‘C’)
- Level 1 Coaching Award in one or more sports other than football
- Recognised First Aid qualification
- Recognised Safeguarding qualification
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage groups of young people effectively
- Ability to travel to different sites to deliver sessions
- Understanding of equality and diversity and its application in the role of a coach
