Description

We are hiring a Communications Officer to join our busy and innovative team in London.

This role is ideal if you have an open, engaging and dynamic communication style and have a desire to use your generalist communications skills to help transform the face of refereeing.

PGMOL is in a new era and are looking to enhance its communications output, offering the right person an exciting opportunity.

What you can expect to be involved in

  • Work closely with the Head of Communications regarding the delivery of a comprehensive strategic communications plan as part of an open and transparent approach

  • Assist with the creation of regular content and the delivery of proposed new PGMOL-owned and external media ideas, including in relation to in-game audio of match officials

  • Assist in the delivery of football-wide stakeholder initiatives from a PGMOL perspective

  • Broaden the list of credible informed advocates and assist with the ongoing engagement to enhance the positive image of PGMOL and refereeing

  • Play a key role in PGMOL’s media relations, both responsive news activity (including on matchdays) and delivering a proactive communications strategy

  • Assist with preparing and issuing statements, briefings and media releases as and when required

  • Supporting the Head of Communications, act as a focal point of contact for broadcasters and media as part of an engaging and receptive press office

  • Create resources for delivery through Premier League, EFL and FA programmes and initiatives to promote refereeing

  • Devise an enhanced strategy to effectively highlight PGMOL’s regular community work

  • Arrange and deliver visits for key personnel and match officials to speak at events/for organisations as PGMOL strive to educate and inform new audiences

  • Take responsibility for delivering PGMOL’s internal communications strategy

  • Manage the day-to-day running of a growing presence on social media
