The department:

Our Sports Science and Medicine Department is comprised of experienced and skilled practitioners, working across a variety of disciplines. We are committed to developing robustness and optimising performance within our playing squad, as well as ensuring that injured players are safely and effectively returned to competition in the quickest possible timeframe. To achieve this, we strive to innovate and push boundaries, using clear processes, objectivity, and continual reflection to guide us. We push staff within the department to make their own decisions and take ownership of the programme, making a role within our department challenging but extremely rewarding.

About this role:

Crystal Palace F.C. is looking for a work placement student to support the full-time Sports Science and Medicine staff in the delivery of our performance strategy. The work placement student will assist in the smooth running of the daily Sports Science tasks to include, but not restricted to; Data collection and analysis, data storage and reporting, assistance during pitch- and gym-based training sessions, and nutritional support. This exciting opportunity will enable the Sport Science student to work within a first-team environment at a Premier League Club, as part of a progressive sports medicine multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

  • Student currently enrolled on a university degree in Sports and Exercise Science or equivalent, which includes a mandatory placement year.

  • Previous experience of sports coaching or personal training.

  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and proactive individual with a strong work ethic.

  • Team player who is equally comfortable when required to work independently.

  • Friendly and skilful communicator across all levels.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager.

  • Upholding and promoting the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures.
