The FA are looking for experienced Operations Match Managers to join on casual contracts, to oversee the on-site delivery of Barclays Women's Super League (BWSL) matches to the highest operational standards, in line with the applicable rules and regulations.
This will be a casual contract, running until the end of the 24/25 season, with an anticipated 1 day per weekend of work during the BWSL season.
Please note that due to conflict of interest, if you currently work for a Barclays Women's Super League or Barclays Women's Championship Club you cannot be considered for the role.What Will You Be Doing?
- Representing the League as the main on-site operational contact on matchdays.
- Liaising with clubs, match officials, broadcast counterparts, and the League's Football Operations team to ensure matches are delivered in line with the Competition Rules and other applicable protocols (e.g. Fixture Guidance, League Handbook).
- Obtaining match information from clubs in advance of each matchday.
- Working with clubs to resolve any issues that arise on matchday, and proactively communicating updates to the League's on-call staff.
- Debriefing with clubs and match officials post-match to highlight successes and areas for improvement.
- Completing a detailed report that covers key operational aspects (e.g. match organisation, kit and equipment, facilities, safety and security).
- Assisting the Football Operations team with any follow up to ensure operations are consistently excellent.
- Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.
- As part of The FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.
What Will You Need?Essential for the role:
Experience
- Significant football operations experience, ideally from a professional club or as a match manager/ match delegate for a governing body.
- Experience of matchday delivery in high-profile competitions at club or international level.
Knowledge & skills
- Excellent at communicating and building relationships.
- Organised and able to prioritise effectively.
- Calm and measured under pressure.
- Proactive and solution oriented.
- Passionate about women's football; motivated to contribute towards the growth and development of the Women's Professional Game.
Beneficial to also have:
- Must be willing and able to work weekends and evenings as required.
- Must be able to travel to matches - use of a car would be advantageous.
