- The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Financial Controller to join our team based at Villa Park.
The role will be responsible for the prompt production and review of the management accounts, budget and forecasting and cash flows. This role provides support to the reporting function of the finance team and the Group Financial Controller, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of timely management information in a fast-paced environment.
You will provide trusted support to departmental heads and senior management to understand their financial needs and provide pro-active support, working closely with teams to develop robust financial controls and ensure adherence to and accountability for budgets/forecasts.
You will ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies and assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements and liaison with external auditors.
You will implement and maintain robust financial systems and procedures to safeguard the Club's financial integrity.
- The Person
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant or a finalist (CIMA/ACCA/ACA).
You will have proven experience in similar Financial Controller / business partner roles, collaborating with non-finance stakeholders to drive business performance and process improvement, preferably within the sports, entertainment, or leisure industries. You will have clear, concise and accurate verbal and written communication skills and be able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment. You will also have strong analytic skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights and have the ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines with ability to multitask with numerous stakeholders and prioritise appropriately.
