Description

The Purpose:     

As the Assistant Coach, you will work closely with the Head Coach, technical staff and MDT in developing and implementing effective coaching strategies, training programs, and game plans to maximise the team's performance. Your primary goal will be to support the Head Coach in creating a positive and competitive environment that fosters player development, teamwork, and success.

The Role:

  • Assist the Head Coach in planning, organising, and conducting team practices, training sessions, and pre-match preparations.

  • Collaborate with the technical staff and MDT to develop and implement effective game plans, strategies, and tactics.

  • Provide coaching, guidance, and feedback to individual players to enhance their technical skills, tactical understanding, and overall performance.

  • Observe and analyse team performance during practices and matches, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures.

  • Assist in scouting and recruiting potential players to strengthen the team's talent pool.

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive team culture that embraces learning, energy, inclusion, and playfulness.

  • Collaborate with the MDT staff to ensure the players' physical conditioning, nutrition, and overall well-being are addressed.

  • Maintain open and effective communication with players, coaching staff, MDT, management, and other stakeholders.

  • Keep up to date with the latest developments in football coaching techniques, tactics, and rules.

  • Support the women’s department in any administrative tasks, team meetings, and strategic decision-making processes.


The Person:

  • Extensive experience as a football coach, preferably with a focus on women's football.

  • Proven track record of success in coaching and developing players at various levels.

  • In-depth knowledge of football tactics, strategies, and training methodologies.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire players to perform at their best.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with players, coaching staff, and other stakeholders.

  • Dedication to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest trends in women's football.

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively, and make sound decisions during matches.

  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel for away games or tours.

  • UEFA A Licence holder
