We are a football club with a desire to be the best and are always looking for talented people to join our Everton Family.

Everton is a workplace people crave to join, where extraordinary talented people belong, thrive and deliver the remarkable.

Assistant Club Secretary

Who are we: Everton Football Club is one of world sport's most respected and revered names - a by-word for innovation and professionalism during the course of a glittering history that spans three centuries.

One of the 12 founder members of the Football League, Everton has played more games in English football's topflight than any other club.

While rightly proud of our rich past, and Goodison Park, our home of more than 130 years, we are now setting our sights on an exciting future at a state-of-the-art new stadium currently being constructed on the banks of the iconic River Mersey.

In doing so, we remain committed to developing and supporting teams across our men’s, women’s and Academy set-ups that inspire and compete at the highest level of the game.

Our values underpin how we behave, how we represent our club in our city and across the world of football, and how we look after one another and our community. They provide a framework for how we work and engage with partners, suppliers and, most importantly, our fans.

About the opportunity: A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen to work within our Men’s First Team Football Operations department and join us as Assistant Club Secretary.

As Assistant Club Secretary you will be reporting into the Head of Football Operations, and will work proactively to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of processes and obligations relating to our Men’s First Term fixtures, registrations and player administration, playing a leading role in all aspects of regulatory compliance, coordinating processes across colleagues and players within all playing squads across the Club; all whilst ensuring regulatory specifications are satisfied within required timeframes.

Other key responsibilities as part of the role will include:

  • Management of the Men’s First Team fixture list in collaboration with the Head of Football Operations

  • Ensuring all pre- and post-match football administration documentation is complete for the relevant competition, liaising with various stakeholders, such as Merseyside Police, Stadium Safety/Operations, First Team Manager, Match Officials etc

  • Maintaining the Club’s FA Pro Club Portal in respect of player disciplinary matters such as suspensions, cautions, fines etc

  • Assisting with the visa application process and minor applications for players.

  • Liaising with the Men’s First Team Football Department and the Club’s Academy on various aspects of football administration and registrations

  • Liaising with FIFA, UEFA, The FA, PL and EFL on various aspects of football administration and registrations.

You will assume ultimate responsibility for the operational delivery of all aspects of player, team and match administration, ensuring a best-in-class service.

Who we are looking for: Essentially, we are looking for someone who has proven experience of business operational leadership, including administration and production of official / contractual documentation, and has worked within an elite performance environment, previously or currently.

You must have extensive knowledge, experience and practical application of The Football Association, Premier League, UEFA, and FIFA rules and regulations governing football, and be comfortable working with a wide variety of demands and be flexible enough to support our elite players across competitive fixtures, both home and away.

We need someone who possess’ the ability to work discreetly under pressure, and is a passionate, energised team player who embraces opportunities to collaborate with a broader diverse team.
