This post will contribute to MCWFC success by providing high level physiotherapy support to MCWFC Academy players in line with the MCWFC Medical Team approach and aligned to MCWFC Performance Services Strategy.
*This post includes delivery at evenings & weekends due to the nature of academy football.
*For this post we are willing to accept applications from Physiotherapists and Sports Therapists.
* This is a part time/20 hours fixed term post.
Role specific accountabilities:
- As a member of the MCWFC Injury Management team & MCWFC Academy MDT, contribute to ongoing planning, delivery, and review of Physiotherapy support to MCWFC Academy Teams/players in line with the MCWFC Performance Services Strategy.
- Provide ongoing delivery of evidence-informed rehabilitation/return to play programmes supported by the Academy physiotherapist, that minimises time lost to injury and chances of re-injury for MCWFC Academy Players.
- Contribute to delivering a proactive approach to injury management for MCWFC Academy players, working closely with the MCWFC Doctor/academy physio and MDT as appropriate.
- Working in partnership with MCWFC Physical Performance practitioners, contributing to develop proactive approaches to injury risk reduction in line with the MCWFC Performance Services strategy.
- Provide matchday and pitch side physiotherapy support to Academy squads as required.
- Ensure communication is proactive, timely and consistent to all relevant stakeholders in line with delivering a high-level physiotherapy support service.
Role specific knowledge, skills and experience:Essential:
- A recognised Physiotherapy qualification (eg. Undergraduate degree)
- Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC)
OR
- A recognised sports therapy qualification.
- Member of BASRaT
- Interest in conversion to physiotherapy qualification.
- Hold an up-to-date emergency pitch-side qualification (ITMIF/PHICIS Level2)
Essential Skills/Experience
- Experience working in a developmental sporting environment, with rehabilitation experience of common and complex injuries.
- Knowledge and technical skillset in rehabilitation in a performance/development environment (including training adaptation, injury/illness risk management, confidence in assessment and clinical judgment etc).
- An ability to develop excellent relationships with key stakeholders (Players, Coaches, wider MDT) that enable challenge, support and trust.
- An ability to reflect on current working practice & adapt as required.
- An interest in performance related data to inform practice.
