Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Age Group Coach to work at Sheffield United Women’s new Emerging Talent Centre. The successful candidate should have a passion for the development and welfare of all players, with a proven track record of providing high quality coaching and support, for individual development plans of players moving through the emerging talent structure. Sheffield United Women are looking for someone with excellent reporting skills, who will monitor and record the progression of potential talent within their designated age groups to feedback to the wider team.

Due to the nature of this role, we are looking for someone with full flexibility, who is able to attend evening training sessions and match day fixtures.

Role Responsibilities:

  • To deliver training sessions (1 evening per week) at the ETC and attend all festivals and matches or CPD/In-service events where required by the Club.

  • As and when required, you may be asked to deliver in-service events for other coaches/ players at the Centre or Grassroots Clubs/Coaches as part of their regular training hours.

  • Any other reasonable requests as directed by management.

  • Ensure completion of any mandatory training required for the role, including internal club training around Safeguarding and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

  • To adhere to all Sheffield United Football Club’s Safeguarding Policies and Procedures to foster an environment which protects from harm those defined as children and adults at risk.

  • To report any concerns of a Safeguarding nature to the relevant parties and remain fully compliant with any applicable Safeguarding checks and due diligence and recognise your responsibility to the Club’s Safeguarding agenda.

  • To report any concerns of discrimination to the relevant parties and promote a welcoming and inclusive club environment for all.

  • To adhere to the Club’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies, supporting the Club to create an environment which is inclusive and all-encompassing.


Essential Criteria for the role:

  • Level 2 or above coaching qualification.

  • Experience of coaching young players.

  • Experience in Youth Development.

  • Experience in the development of an age specific staffing structure.

  • FA Level 1 Introduction to First Aid in Football (IFAiF) or FA Emergency First Aid.

  • FA Safeguarding Children Course.

  • This role requires a DBS check.

  • Organisational skills.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate with parents/guardians.

  • Ability to communicate with players of all age ranges.

  • Ability to communicate with coaches across all phases.
