Academy Sports Therapist.

Department/Location
Huddersfield Town AFC Academy, the Canalside Training Centre.

Reports To
Academy Manager.
Head of Academy Medical.

Purpose of the Role
Predominantly, but not exclusively, working with the U9-U16 age groups, the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of a sports therapy programme and immediate medical cover for young Academy footballers, in training sessions and live fixtures.

Role Specific Responsibilities
(Predominantly but not exclusively with the U9 – U16s.)

The post holder will:

• Deliver a comprehensive sports therapy programme.

• Liaise with full time Physiotherapists and other medical staff regarding treatment, management, and return to play of all Academy players.

• Deliver individualised assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation to all Academy players, as required.

• Provide match day medical cover.

• Support the Academy injury audit.

• Provide matchday medical cover (home and away, including evenings and weekends).
• Maintain up to date and accurate records for all involvement with Academy players in line with regulatory requirements.

• Assist in delivering all Academy testing and screening strategies.

This job description is not exhaustive, and the post holder is required to undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required by the Academy Manager, Head of Academy Medical, and/or any other Senior Leader within the Club.

Up to £23,500 per annum, depending on skills and experience
Full-time (35+ hours per week, including home and away match days, evenings and weekends)

Casual (hourly paid) Sports Therapist positions are also available

We are looking for a suitably qualified Sports Therapist to join our Academy medical team, working closely with Academy players and staff. The successful candidate will predominantly work with players in the U9-U16 age groups and will be responsible for delivering a sports therapy programme and providing immediate medical cover for young footballers in training sessions and live fixtures.
