Description

Heart of Midlothian Football Club is a Premiership Scottish Professional Football Club based in Edinburgh with Elite Academy Status. The Club are looking to recruit an Academy Scout to work within the West Lothian area of Scotland. This is an exciting
opportunity for candidates who have previous scouting experience and are passionate about identifying talented young players.

The successful candidate will be responsible for attending matches within their designated geographical area, and further afield when requested, to identify players who have the potential to develop into Heart of Midlothian FC players as per the requirements of the Academy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure adequate coverage of matches within the West Lothian area and identify players based on recruitment priorities.
• Have a strong understanding of the signed Academy player profiles and group succession plans to highlight recruitment priorities across all your assigned age groups.
• Upload reports to the online system as per the weekly deadline, as detailed by the Head of Academy Recruitment.
• Assist in providing feedback to parents of players who attend the Club on trial.
• Assist in any other related duties that may be required by the Head of Academy Recruitment, Academy Director, or any other senior Academy staff member.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

• SFA Talent ID Level 1.3 (Desirable).
• Knowledge and understanding of SFA scouting criteria and protocols.
• Previous scouting experience, particularly within an Elite Football Academy(Desirable).
• Currently based in West Lothian or can reliably commute to West Lothian and other locations as per the needs of the position.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
• Valid UK driving licence.

The role will have regular contact with children, and it is therefore required by law to have a Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check through Disclosure Scotland as a condition of employment.
