Stoke City Football Club is looking for an Academy Safeguarding Officer to provide effective and comprehensive safeguarding support and administration across Stoke City FC Academy.
The successful applicant will report into the Academy Director and support the Head of Safeguarding in a preventative strategy to safeguarding which will include arranging training programmes, preparation of training materials, carrying out audits and responding effectively to safeguarding concerns when they arise.
The Academy Safeguarding Officer will be responsible for promoting safeguarding, ensuring compliance and leading the implementation and monitoring of the Host Family Programme. You will also be responsible for the administration of Academy recruitment including the DBS process and employment history reference checking as well as maintaining comprehensive records.

- Experience in Safeguarding in a professional sport environment.
- Knowledge of safeguarding recruitment processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, trustworthy and courteous under pressure.
- Strong organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to make sound safeguarding judgments whilst understanding the needs of children and adults at risk.
- Ability to analyse data and information.
- Ability to work under own initiative to achieve objectives but also support departmental goals as a team member.
- Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality.
