The Role:
- The administration and delivery of a comprehensive Scouting Analysis service.
- The generation of video and statistical data using a range of computerised systems.
- Presentation and maintenance of the live statistical data and on individual targets.
- Working with performance analysts to film, capture, code, analyse and database potential scouting targets.
- Help to develop and monitor Man United-specific technical benchmarks for comparative analysis.
- Innovate and develop new methods to identify talent.
- Conduct research projects & develop industry benchmarks to support strategic decision-making and provide data driven insights
- Help in the delivery of video and graphical analysis on players.
- Watch games live as well as on video where necessary.
- Support the collation and production of regular scouting feedback reports.
- Work with all scouting staff to collect information on tournaments and fixtures across age groups and regions.
The Person:
- Relevant vocational qualifications and experience that provide an understanding of the technical and tactical demands of Professional football
- Understanding of analytics as well as statistical and database management.
- Experience working in a professional football academy or elite football environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and an ability to work with total discretion.
- Experience in using performance analysis systems and software such as Angles.
- Be computer literate, and familiar with Microsoft Office or similar packages.
- Experience in graphical software and presentation. E.g Tableau, After Effects, Photoshop.
- Ability to work on own initiative, unsupervised and as an effective team member.
- The ability to make sound decisions promptly and practical approach to problem-solving.
- A willingness to work flexible hours per the demands of the role.
- Full driving license.
- A commitment to driving forward continuous improvement in their working environment.
- Sound personal qualities such as communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment, self-motivation, enthusiasm and ability to work under pressure.
- Exhibit pride in performance and possess high standards in the provision of service to Manchester United's customers and internal users.
- Formal training in research methods is desirable
