About the role:

To lead on the pastoral care and education support for all players registered on the Part-Time Training Model within the Fleetwood Town Academy.

Main responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Be the Lead person on the Life skills programme for all part-time Academy players and parents, providing age and stage specific personal and professional development

  • Be responsible for collation of school reports for all part-time Academy players, ensuring positive interventions, where necessary, and managing positive relationships with key stakeholders

  • Take the lead on the transition programmes for all part-time players, ensuring each child’s progress is proactively planned, monitored, appropriately handed over and a relative plan is in place to support the next stage of their journey either in or out of the Academy

  • Lead on the mental, emotional and well-being strategy for the whole Academy, ensuring parents, players and staff knowledge and practice is continuously developing

  • Lead on the parent & player council, ensuring both stakeholders are provided a consistent voice to share feedback and welcome new ideas for Academy progression

  • Positive champion Equality & Diversity across the Academy, ensuring equal opportunities for all players, parents, and staff

  • Be the welcoming and consistent face for all new players and parents and Fleetwood Town Academy.

  • Work as part of a close-knit Education, Player Care & Safeguarding team, promoting positive practice, innovation, and a consistent drive for child development.

  • Assist the Head of Education & Player Care with design, delivery support and review of our Player Care plans for all ages.

  • Attend tours and trips for Academy age groups, building positive relationships with players, parents and staff whilst representing the FTFC brand.


Essential Qualifications:

  • Educated to a degree level

  • FA Safeguarding certificate

  • FA 1st aid

  • Enhanced DBS

  • Experience of working with children

  • Experience of working with elite Academies

  • Administration experience

  • Report writing & record maintenance experience


Desirable:

  • Qualified Teacher Status

  • Experience in Psychology or Sports Psychology
