Sounding good so far?The Purpose: To provide a first-class physiotherapy service to the YDP/FDP playing staff of Manchester United Academy players.
The Role:
- Assist the Head of Academy Physiotherapy in the daily organisation and provision of the physiotherapy service to the YDP/FDP Players of Manchester United.
- Liaise with the Head of Academy Physiotherapy and Academy Doctor and other healthcare professionals for the adequate provision of suitable medical care for the Manchester United Playing Staff.
- Liaise with the coaching staff and administrative staff regarding the medical and physiotherapy management of the Academy players.
- To maintain membership of the CSP and the HCPC. To follow the Rules of Professional Conduct and Core Standards of Physiotherapy Practice as laid down by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists.
- To maintain compliance with relevant Club Service Standards.
- Attend relevant courses in order to ensure that a high standard of education is maintained and to keep a diary of continuing professional development.
- Ensure that full physiotherapy records are kept for all Manchester United Playing Staff.
- It is particularly important to liaise with player’s parents/guardians regarding player injuries due to the age of the players involved in the Academy.
- Liaise with the Academy coaching and administrative staff regarding the availability of players for training etc.
- Provide physiotherapy match day cover to the YDP/FDP (home and away).
- Maintain up to date ATMMiF qualification including annual refresher day competencies.
- At all times strictly observe, conform to and comply with the rules, laws, regulations, bye-laws, orders, directions, requirements and decisions of the football authorities of which Manchester United Football Club may at any time be a member.
- All medical staff at the academy will have DBS clearance. They will be trained in safeguarding policies and procedures and adhere to the club’s Safeguarding policies and procedures.
The Person:
- Post qualification experience preferably (NHS) or equivalent in other organisations
- Experience in football, ideally including experience in an academy setting.
- A Masters degree in a relevant subject or equivalent would be advantageous.
