Job Title: Academy Performance Analyst
Department: Performance Analysis
Reports to: Head of Performance Analysis

Job Purpose

  • Lead, oversee and coordinate the performance analysis support provision for Academy age groups U12s to U17s

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the analysis function in line with the overarching Performance Services 5-year plan.

  • Design the performance analysis provision for the academy players within the Academy, monitoring and tracking development using objective and subjective data aligned to the What it Takes to Develop Model Al Jazira Way

  • To be directly responsible for the preparation of the U17’s and the U16’s analysis service from pre- match through to post-match duties, adopting both video and statistical methods of analysis.

  • Deliver regular updates and player development reports to the Head of Analysis


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the support provision and requirements of the analysis function within the Academy to effectively provide an evidence-based support system for our Al Jazira way model.

  • Utilise objective markers to provide clarity around team philosophy and individual role requirements.

  • Use the individual role requirements as basis upon which individual player development plans (IDP’s) can be created and measured over time.

  • Align feedback delivery of match and Training content to all players and coaching staff, ensuring the most applicable method and style is used, including the use of specialist software.

  • Oversee individual analysis from U12 – U17 age groups using subjective and objective data to inform the Academy Management Team.

  • Oversee the filming and coding of training and matches for U12 to U17

  • Manage and develop casual staff and studentships with university partnerships.

  • Compliance with Club policies

  • Compliance with the Club’s health and safety procedures

  • To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of SportsCode, Studio, Hudl, OPTA and/or equivalent analysis systems

  • Knowledge of various video techniques to video games/training.

  • Knowledge of various delivery methods/styles to use when delivering specific analysis sessions to both teams/individuals.

  • Understanding of football tactics, games management and talent ID.

  • Knowledge of varying statistical data used in performance analysis and how this can be utilised in an elite Academy environment;

  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding practices and procedures;

  • Good knowledge of Mac and Windows based operating systems.

Experience
Essential

  • Experience in elite sport within an analysis position at either senior or youth development level

  • Experience in leadership role within elite sport

  • Demonstrate applied impact using objective date to inform decision making


Qualifications
Essential

  • Undergraduate degree in Sports Science, specialising in performance analysis


Desirable

  • Postgraduate degree in a related field (e.g. MSc/MPhil/MRes)

  • Data visualisation qualifications (such as Tableau)

  • ISPAS Level 3 accredited performance analyst
