Description
We are looking for someone to join our Academy Coaching Team working within our Youth Development Phase. You will support the Lead Phase coach and lead on all programmes related to the U15 age group, as well as supporting the transition of the U14's into the Forest School Full Time Training Model (FTTM) programme
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
To work closely with assistant coaches, the Lead Phase and Head of Academy Coaching to develop and deliver a world leading development programme.
To support the transition of the U14 into the Forest FTTM programme
To work with the Forest School and Education department to ensure a smooth running of the FTTM
To follow and implement the Academy coaching syllabus and philosophy whilst contributing to its evolution
To ensure a thorough working knowledge of the content and functions of the Academy Performance Plan
To work as part of a multidisciplinary support team involving, but not restricted to, Performance Analysis, Sports Scientists, Physiotherapists, Operation and Administrative staff
To ensure player welfare is always the primary consideration in all Academy aspects
To lead and ensure all age group playing kits and equipment is fit for use at all times and checked out and in
To adopt a proactive approach in order to provide optimal playing opportunities
To ensure you are up to date with and fulfil all audit requirements.
To participate fully with the Head of Academy Coaching in relation to development action plans and the coach competency framework
To support other coaches across the Youth Development Phase when required by the Head of Academy Coaching
To work closely with the Academy Development Squads U15-U16 to ensure an open pathway is maintained.
Take an active role in the induction process of the trialists, providing a positive reflection of the Academy Philosophy to all parties involved (e.g. player, parents)
To ensure the relevant reports are completed for each trialist for each game and submitted to the recruitment department
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
QUALIFICATIONS: Essential - UEFA A Licence; FA Advanced Youth Award; Emergency First Aid in Football (EFAiF) Desirable -Relevant degree; ECAS qualification
EXPERIENCE: Essential - Experience within elite sport environment; Experience within EPPP Academy Environment; Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team. Desirable - Previous experience of working with players from diverse cultural backgrounds in the youth development phase in a Category 1 academy setting.
KNOWLEDGE: Essential - The business of player development; How planning and monitoring systems work (Kit-Man Labs/Hudl/Session Planner); Audit requirements.
SKILLS: Essential - Able to give effective feedback; Proficient IT Skills; Strong communication skills in a variety of settings; Proven ability to work as part of a broader multidisciplinary team. Desirable - Specific IT skills in all relevant software (Microsoft Office, PMA, HUDL and Session Planner)
