The Purpose:  
We are looking to recruit an expert in youth development who can support players in our youth development phase (13-16) with a specific expertise in players aged 13 & 14.

 The Role:

  • To support the delivery of coaching sessions to young players between the ages of 13-16

  • To support the development of players on match-days

  • To contribute to the development of Agreed Action Plans with players

  • To provide feedback for players and parents/guardians

  • To contribute to the player recruitment process where required

  • To contribute to retention decisions

  • To collaborate with key stakeholders across the club in order to support the development of Academy players

  • To complete all administration required and to the appropriate standard.

  • To demonstrate and promote high standards of personal and professional standards both on and off the pitch.

  • To continue with CPD and maintain/develop relevant qualifications.


The Person:

  • UEFA A Licence

  • FA Advanced Youth Award (or working towards this award) preferable.

  • Child protection / Safeguarding Award

  • Current First Aid qualification.

  • Experience of working with young players with high potential

  • An enthusiasm for and understanding of young people

  • A commitment to supporting young people to reach their full potential.

  • A commitment to ensuring that Manchester United’s Academy continues to be a world leading learning environment for players and staff

  • An understanding of the philosophy and culture of Manchester United.

  • Relevant IT skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to work with total discretion.

  • Ability to work on own initiative, unsupervised and as an effective team member.

  • The ability to make sound decisions in a timely manner and practical approach to problem solving.

  • Sound personal qualities such as communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment, self-motivation, enthusiasm and ability to work under pressure.

  • The successful candidate should exhibit pride in performance and possess high standards in the provision of service to Manchester United’s internal and external customers.

  • A willingness to work flexible hours in accordance with the demands of the role.

  • Full driving license.
