About The RolePlan, programme and coach Strength and Conditioning, which is underpinned by sound scientific evidence and practice-based rationale.
- Facilitate the day-to-day Strength and Conditioning training for players through a structured timetable.
- Provide impactful feedback to players to support progression through their Individual Development Plan.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of work conducted with athletes.
- Collate, analyse and feedback relevant performance information to the appropriate Club staff for all players.
- To work in a multidisciplinary environment and help foster professional relationships.
- Update TMA and player development plans as required.
- Work with the medical team to provide relevant physical/performance testing to potential new signings and during the rehabilitation process.
- Attend and actively participate in performance and medical meetings.
- To manage the space, storage and equipment, ensuring equipment is set-up and put away safely.
- Work alongside the Academy Performance and Medical staff to ensure the S&C programme across the Academy complies with, and exceeds, the requirements of its category one status.
- Actively engage with continuing professional development and work with the Head of Performance and Medical to maintain an up-to-date personal development plan.
- Contribute to the creation of the Strength and Conditioning Risk Assessment
- Provide strength and conditioning coaching both at the Academy of Light, and as required on 1st team home and away matchdays.
- Work with the Head Performance Coach and Senior Physical Performance Coach to deliver a structured and co-ordinated programme of strength & conditioning, aligned with the wider Club values and in keeping with the vision set out by the owners and Board of Directors
- Lead of the design and structure of individual player developments plans in liaison with on field activities.
- Assist in the recruitment of staff and placements in liaison with the Head of Domain.
- Identify areas for development and work closely with the Football Management Team and Academy Management Team to ensure necessary performance standards are met and developed.
- Lead the appraisals process for additional Strength and Conditioning Coaches.
- Delivery of at least three professional development events each season
About The Candidate3+ years’ experience of working as a S&C Coach in an elite team-sport environment
- MSc in a Sports Science / S&C related discipline
- UKSCA Accreditation (or currently working towards)
- Appropriate Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
- Clean UK Driving Licence
Desirable
- BASES Accreditation (or currently working towards)
- Experience using a range of S&C related technology (eg., Vald, Gym Aware, GPS etc).
- EFAiF First Aid Qualification
