Real Madrid interested in 18-year-old Deportivo La Coruna forward

According to Spanish publication Defensa Central, Real Madrid are eyeing a move for Deportivo La Coruna prodigy Noel Lopez.

Lopez has impressed Real with his performances this season, he has netted three goals in six substitute appearances so far as Depor sit second in the table.

These performances saw him get called up to the Spain U19 squad for the first time, he made is debut for Santi Denia’s side in September.

Atletico Madrid are also said to be keen on a move for Lopez, but Deportivo do not want to sell and Defensa Central claim they have offered him a new contract. As of now, Lopez is yet to sign anything and his current deal runs out at the end of the season. Depor are focussing on getting him to agree a new deal to avoid losing one of their prized assets on a free.

An alternative report from Onda Cero claims that Real have already made an offer for Lopez, they are trying to get a deal completed quickly to avoid competition from other clubs.

The emergence of Lopez as a target for Real follows the transfer policy their are using recently. Los Blancos are looking to acquire some of Europe’s hottest young talent to bolster the youth ranks at the club and set the club up for the future.

After securing the signing of young Sporting Gijon defender Jaime Vazquez this summer, Real have also been linked with the likes of Giovanni Reyna, Fabio Carvalho and Agustin Alvarez.
