About
. I am a UEFA qualified coach with 7 years’ experience at professional level and have a Level 8 Honours Degree in Sport coaching & Management from Institute of Technology Carlow. The club I most notably worked for is Galway United Football Club. In my 7 years of coaching, I accrued an extensive range of coaching skills from u6 to u21 level. I began my coaching pathway in 2014 and in March of 2019 I achieved my UEFA B Licence. Since then, I was accepted onto the UEFA Youth Elite B licence.
In 2014 I assisted in the establishment of the Galway United FC Junior Academy. This elite academy was used to identify and develop amateur footballers from the ages of 10 – 13 for elite football. My role within the academy is to design and implement age relevant coaching curriculums. Taking on these roles and responsibilities allowed me to develop as a coach and further my role within the club where I became a U14 National League coach. I have coached in the national league for the past 3 years.
As well as working with professional clubs I also work with Amateur schoolboy clubs. I have been an employee of Knocknacarra Football Club since 2019 as a Head Coach. In this club I work across several age groups and manage U13 & U21 teams. Through my experience of designing and implementing coaching curriculums at elite level, I can identify the needs and requirements for this schoolboy club which has progressed massively in the past 24 months.
I am an open minded, driven individual with strong interpersonal skills. My ambition is to constantly upskill, develop as a coach & person and to experience different footballing cultures. I believe that my pathway through education at Institute of Technology Carlow and current coaching experience accumulated with Galway United FC and local grassroot clubs makes me a credible candidate for your club.
